This Handbook presents many of the key outputs, recommendations and accumulated expertise from the project “Support for Agri-environment Policies and Programming in Serbia” that was undertaken between 2008 and 2010. It is produced in both Serbian and English and is intended to serve as a reference document to support the future programming of agri-environment measures in Serbia.

La présente étude propose donc d’effectuer un état des lieux de la prise en compte de la biodiversité par les signes de reconnaissance du secteur agricole sur la base d’une analyse des cahiers des charges d’un échantillon de ceux-ci. L’état des lieux permettra d’identifier les marges de manoeuvre possibles pour faire évoluer cette prise en compte.

This study entailed a review of the existing literature relevant to agriculture policy, water policy and the status of various conventions/protocols to which Pakistan is a signatory. It identifies the gaps and makes recommendations on ways and means to address the gaps in the existing documents. Gap analysis techniques include commenting on what the present state is and how one could get to a desired state.

L'UICN a mené une étude sur le potentiel économique de la vallée du Sourou, dont les principales conclusions ont été présentées aux principaux acteurs de la vallée, lors d'un atelier à Tougan au Burkina Faso en avril 2010.

Le but de cette étude est de sensibiliser les décideurs politiques et les acteurs de la conservation de la biodiversité sur les valeurs économiques de la vallée du Sourou en vue d'influencer les politiques d'aménagement et de conservation des écosystèmes naturels. Les objectifs spécifiques sont : (i) déterminer l'importance écologique et économique des écosystèmes de la vallée du Sourou (ii) évaluer la valeur économique des biens et services environnementaux associés au fleuve Sourou.

We hope that providing this Facts and Trends publication will help uncover some key trade-offs that mean extremely challenging decisions for governments, farmers, consumers and industry. This publication does not attempt to cover everything there is to know about agricultural ecosystems.

The report reviews a specific, usually ignored aspect of agricultural lands existence - their role in biological and landscape diversity conservation. The report summarizes the impact of agriculture on biodiversity and the usefulness of biodiversity for commercial use of lands. Particular attention is given to the current situation and trends witnessed in the last decade.
