Amphibians

The potential for numerous amphibian species to go extinct in Oaxaca and Chiapas is high and worthy of being considered a major environmental problem. This report summarizes the findings of a project aimed at gathering information at 16 sites in southern Mexico which had been identified in 2005 as being essential to the continued existence of 22 highly threatened amphibian species, the hope being that it could help initiate conservation action.

El libro está organizado en dos secciones principales: en la primera se presentan los capítulos introducción, metodología, diversidad de vertebrados cubanos y sus amenazas de extinción, regiones cubanas y su diversidad de vertebrados, listas previas de vertebrados cubanos amenazados, y un análisis de la presencia de vertebrados cubanos amenazados en las áreas protegidas.

Mit der Roten Liste Wirbeltiere wird der erste Band einer neuen, insgesamt sechsteiligen aktuellen Roten Liste vorgelegt. Seit der Herausgabe der letzten Roten Liste der Tiere im Jahr 1998 wurden die methodischen Grundlagen weiter entwickelt. Die Einstufung erfolgt jetzt für alle erfassten Artengruppen nachvollziehbar anhand von einheitlichen Kriterien. Der Band enthält die Roten Listen der Säugetiere, Brutvögel, Kriechtiere, Lurche und Süßwasserfische Deutschlands.
