Only one of the nine African savanna hornbill species, the Southern Ground-Hornbill (Bucorvus leadbeateri: hereafter SGH) is listed as being of conservation concern. The species is an apex predator and thus ecologically important, as well as holding immense cultural value to the majority of language groups across its range.

Acrocephalus is the scientific journal of the Society for the observation and study of birds of Slovenia, which has been published since 1980. 

Birds of Dilmun is an account of the 330 bird species recorded in the Kingdom over the past 10 years. It brings together the latest information on the resident breeding species, summer or winter visitors and those birds which pass through Bahrain in spring and autumn on their annual migrations to and from east Africa, as well as the habitats of Bahrain and the places to go in order to see these birds.

This book describes the 14 sites in Fiji which are of global importance for bird conservation. These Important Bird Areas (IBAs) are priorities for conserving the natural heritage of Fiji for future generations. Fiji's rich natural heritage includes 11 threatened bird species and 27 endemic bird species.

This title presents an overview of the uses and developments of the African Waterfowl Census, illustrates the usefulness of biological data to the implementation of international conventions and agreements, summarises other international waterbird conservation initiatives, and overviews each national effort within Africa. From this, a preliminary strategy for applied programmes for waterbird monitoring in Africa is proposed.
