In 2011, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) convened conservation partners to develop a conservation action plan for great apes in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with financial support from the Arcus Foundation. The main goal of this initiative was to identify critical threats to gorillas, chimpanzees and their habitats in the landscape, and to develop conservation strategies to address these threats.
This book deals with the different types of soil and the soil characteristics of mangrove swamps, the flora and invertebrate fauna as well as with the vertebrate fauna. Furthermore the book informs about the settlement and development of mangroves as well as with the management and utilization of forest resources. Also topics like fishery and agriculture and conservation of biological resources are shown in detail.
