This publication aims to further raise awareness about the value of transboundary conservation, highlighting the many benefits transboundary cooperation generates, while not neglecting the challenges and problems parties encounter when they engage in transboundary initiatives.
This publication provides a much needed and timely tool to assist in the collective effort to find new and better solutions to address the various threats to the marine biological diversity and productivity. It provides evidence-based recommendations on improving and accelerating actions on delivering ocean protection and management through marine protected areas and facilitates the sharing of experiences and lessons learned.
This book analyzes the state and management of national parks in Africa. It discusses the state of ecosystems of national parks in the continent and assesses the capacity of environmental leadership and management to positively impact on biodiversity conservation in national pakrs. The book also examines the economic, social, and environmental performance of national parks in Africa and the role of stakeholders in the reailzation of the anticipated benefits of national parks in Africa.
This publication reflects on and reinforces the lessons and experience of undertaking transboundary conservation programmes and sets out some existing and new guidance for those involved. It proposes a diagnostic approach to determining what the underlying purpose is for the transboundary initiative, and to guide the practitioner to respond to this purpose and need when the programme is designed and implemented.

La mine dilmenite de Rio Tinto au sud-est de Madagascar, exploitee par QIT Madagascar Minerals (Rio Tinto QMM), a ete choisie comme site pilote pour tester les outils destines a atteindre et a quantifier limpact positif net (IPN) sur la biodiversite.
Esta publicacion tiene como objetivo proporcionar los datos, las teorias y las previsions para el posible resultado a largo plazo de un programa de conservacion de la biodiversidad en un sitio minero. La mina de ilmenita de Rio Tinto en el sudeste de Madagascar, operada por QIT Madagascar Minerals (Rio Tinto QMM), ha sido seleccionada como sitio piloto para comprobar las herramientas disenadas para lograr y cuantificar el impacto neto positivo (INP) sobre la biodiversidad.
