Big game hunting in West Africa : what is its contribution to conservation?

Government of Pakistan set in motion the local governance system under the Local Government Ordinance (LGO) 2001, which introduced a three-tier system of governance at the district, tehsil and union council level.
This publication aims to further raise awareness about the value of transboundary conservation, highlighting the many benefits transboundary cooperation generates, while not neglecting the challenges and problems parties encounter when they engage in transboundary initiatives.

Ce rapport propose de dresser un panorama synthétique de l'implication des collectivités en faveur de la biodiversité sur la base des contributions des membres du Groupe de travail. Il rappelle tout d'abord le constat de l'érosion de la biodiversité au niveau local, présente l'évolution du contexte institutionnel, et dresse la liste des compétences des collectivités territoriales en matière de biodiversité.
The workshop was hosted by WWF Caucasus Programme Office and was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, 31 May 2 June 2008. During the three day workshop, the participants agreed on a long-term vision for the conservation of the leopard in the Caucasus ecoregion as: Leopards and all wildlife prosper in natural habitats across the Caucasus ecoregion in harmony with people.
