This publication is a result of recommendations articulated by the NCS and SPCS on the need for devolved decision-making to achieve a long-term sustainable development plan for D.I. Khan that integrates both socioeconomic and environmental imperatives. This document takes stock of the natural resources and opportunities available in the district, and explores ways and means of increasing productivity on a sustainable basis.
The Qila Saifullah Integrated Development Vision is among the first in the province of Balochistan. It is the peoples vision for their future, of the quality of life they aspire to and the progressive milestones they would like to achieve. The Vision is hinged on certain principles, including participation of communities, gender equity in policy and programmes, people and environment-friendly development.
The Sindh Strategy for Sustainable Development (SSSD) proposes a 10-year sustainable development agenda for Sindh. Its purpose is to highlight the ecological, economic and social issues of the province and to provide recommendations and strategic actions to address them. The strategy promotes the sustainable use of natural resources to achieve the objectives of poverty alleviation and social development through the participation of the people of Sindh.
