Forest management

L’objectif global du forum était de favoriser la prise de conscience sur l’état et l’importance de la biodiversité et des forêts et un partage d’expériences de capitalisation des données, de conservation et de valorisation de la diversité biologique (animale, végétale), in situ et /ou ex situ au Burkina Faso.

The first in a regional series, this report examines forest management experiences of Canada and the United States, which have interrelated histories, economies and similar ecological and social systems.

This book presents the results of an international research project, which was designed explicitly to examine application of the forest landscape restoration (FLR) approach to dryland forest ecosystems in Latin America. In order for FLR to be transferred into mainstream practice that is adopted and promoted by governments and the private sector, as well as by local communities, information is needed on how the principles of FLR can be implemented in practice, in a cost-effective manner.

Although the rules regarding REDD have not been set, it is already clear that the extent to which an individual country will be able to attract international investment and REDD payments will depend to a considerable extent on its ability to put in place a system that rewards forest managers who are changing their behaviour to reduce deforestation and degradation.

Este reporte es el resultado de cuatro diálogos sobre el marco general para el financiamiento e implementación de REDD-plus organizados por el Diálogo Forestal (The Forests Dialogue-TFD, por sus siglas en inglés) entre Abril y Agosto de 2009. Esta publicación no es un estudio de investigación, sin embargo representa las percepciones, opiniones y recomendaciones expresadas por los participantes de estos diálogos.

Entre avril et août 2009, The Forests Dialogue (TFD) a organisé quatre dialogues sur les cadres de financement et d’application de la REDDplus dont les résultats sont communiqués dans le présent rapport. Ce dernier n’est pas un travail de recherche : il traduit les perceptions, opinions et recommandations exprimées par tous ceux qui ont participé aux dialogues.

This report presents the outcome of four dialogues on frameworks for the financing and implementation of REDD-plus, which were organized by The Forests Dialogue (TFD) between April and August 2009. This publication is not a research study but reflects the perceptions, opinions and recommendations expressed by the participants of these dialogues.
