Wann und warum sind bestimmte Tierarten in den Alpen gefährdet, wenn Freizeitsportler in ihren Lebensraum eindringen? Unter welchen Bedingungen können Freizeitaktivitäten unbesorgt ausgeübt werden? Worauf sollten Wanderer, Snowboarder etc. im Umgang mit den Alpentieren achten? Inwieweit können sich Tiere an Freizeitbetrieb gewöhnen? Solchen und ähnlichen Fragen widmen sich die Autoren dieses Buches.

Cranes have coexisted with agriculture for centuries in some regions and may often benefit from cropland or grazing. However, the rapid expansion and intensification of agriculture is leading to severe loss of wetland and grassland habitats important to cranes, thus increasing the conflicts between cranes and farmers. Agriculture has been one of the main drivers behind severe population declines for 11 of 15 species of cranes in the world, and affects all species in one way or another.

IUCN Bangladesh started a project with a view to minimize the human-elephant conflicts in and around the Kutupalong Camp. During 21 January - 13 February 2018, IUCN Bangladesh engaged a trained elephant survey team to find out the elephant presence and population size, recent human-elephant conflict situation, and possible intervention spots in and around the camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazaar. The IUCN team surveyed approximately 70 square kilometers of bare hills around the camp.

Tiger populations worldwide are in tremendous pressure of extinction. Bangladesh, harboring one of the largest remaining populations of wild tigers in the vast areas of Sundarban mangrove forest, has therefore a great responsibility to protect this beautiful creature.
