Guidelines for legislation to implement CITES

This publication covers all the major aspects of CITES implementation, stresses the role of Resolutions and contains recommendations for specific measures that might be taken by the Parties. It is a reference for any Party that is faced with enacting legislation for the adequate implementation of CITES.

Legal aspects of the conservation of wetlands : papers presented at an international conference held in Lyon, France

Papers presented at a symposium on the legal problems of the conservation of wetlands, jointly organized the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and the Groupe des zones humides of the Société française pour le droit de l’environnement. The meeting, attended by almost 100 participants representing 25 countries, was held in Lyon, France, in September 1987. General presentations of the international aspects of wetlands conservation and the functioning of the Convention are followed by individual case studies and country reports.

Legal measures for the conservation of marine mammals

Originally intended as a series of papers, the only entry in this loose-leaf collection – Legal measures for the Prevention of “Pirate” Whaling – investigates the legal aspects of the problem of “pirate” whaling, i.e. whaling by States that are not party to the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling, 1946.
