Ten tijden van de vijftigste verjaardag van het Werelderfgoedverdrag in 2022 zijn wereldwijd meer dan 1100 erfgoederen erkend als Werelderfgoed, plekken die zo waardevol zijn voor de mensheid dat het behoud ervan als onze gezamenlijke verantwoordelijkheid wordt gezien. Toch staan veel van deze uitzonderlijke plekken steeds meer onder druk, door verschillende soorten projectontwikkeling op en rondom de erfgoederen.

As the World Heritage Convention celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022, over 1100 sites around the world are recognized as World Heritage - places  that are so valuable to humanity that there conservation has been deemed our collective responsibility. Yet many of these exceptional places face  increasing pressure from diverse types of development projects within and around the sites.

This manual is based on, and represents an expanded and updated edition of the first MEET manual. The purpose of this manual is to provide protected area managing bodies and the local ecotourism sector with a clear pathway to plan and enhance engaged conservation-focused ecotourism in their areas.

This publication is a manual for environmental education.

This manual includes the biology of the crab (Scylla serrata, S. tranquebarica, and S. olivacea), and describes principles and procedures for spawning the mature crabs and rearing the zoea to "fly" size crabs. It focuses on the hatchery rearing of S. serrata as the farming of this species is more economically viable than the two other species. This manual builds upon the 2nd edition of Biology and hatchery of mud crabs Scylla spp. published in 2008.
