Livestock are commonly kept in many refugee situations and, in many instances, form an important part of community activities. They are also a fundamental requirement in many returnee situations given the broad range of products which they can provide. This handbook is intended as a pracitcal user-guide for practioners and is expected to fill an important gap in the management tools and guidelines available to UNHCR staff and implementing partners, in particular.

The decade from 1966 to 1976 was a tumultuous time in the history of the Lower Mekong Basin, with three of the four countries at war. Remarkably, this was also a time of major planning for developing the agricultural production systems of the region. This publication describes the pioneering work done in that decade under the auspices of the Committee for the Coordination of Investigations in the Lower Mekong Basin, otherwise known as the Mekong Committee.

Recopila una selección de treinta experiencias de Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, México, Perú y dos experiencias internacionales, sobre el avance en la vinculación entre ambiente y género, tanto por la apropiación de la dimensión ecológica por parte de las personas que trabajan en los temas sociales, como también por la redimensión de los procesos técnicos de conservación y uso de los recursos.

In this publication, IUCN defines three key challenges that will need to be addressed in the near future in order to deliver internationally-agreed development goals.
