Plants

This report brings together a broad range of new and existing information on 2,358 plant and animal species of the Albertine Rift (AR) region of East and Central Africa. A collaborative project assessed the climate change vulnerability of all known Albertine Rift mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, as well as a range of plants, whilst simultaneously gathering detailed information on their use by humans.

Il présente dans un premier temps un recueil de concepts de base sur la dynamique côtière, qui concerne à la fois les processus physiques (sédimentaires) et leur fonctionnement écologique, ainsi qu'une description des techniques de restauration potentielles.

This booklet describes some of the plants present in and around Lake Tanganyika that can affect its environment and biodiversity. There are many such plants and there will be more, but this small volume is a starting handbook to invasive plant recognition, understanding and management. It contains a selection of species that can are known to be invasive in other situations and some that have already begun to show that tendency in Lake Tanganyika and/or its catchment.

This project aims to assess the socioeconomic value of freshwater species across the northern African region within the context of the threats to those species as previously determined and documented by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

The entry into force of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture marks the commitment of the world community to a freestanding convention directed at addressing both global needs for food security and internationally agreed objectives regarding the concepts of 'access and benefit-sharing' found in the Convention on Biological Diversity.

This publication summarises results for a selection of Europe's native species of vascular plants. In total 1,826 vascular plant species have been assessed from the following groups: species listed on European or international policy instruments, selected priority crop wild relatives, and aquatic plant species. Of those at least 467 species are threatened with extinction.
