The Begnas and Rupa lake watershed area, situated in the mid-hills of Nepal, is exceptionally rich in flora and fauna, and has significant tourist value. The ecology is critically threatened by increasing human intervention. This document responds to the current needs for the preservation of this watershed area, and includes 19 major conservation Action Plans.
Pokhara Valley is a major tourist centre in Nepal and houses 3 magnificent lakes : Phewa, Begnas and Rupa. This publication is a outcome of the National Conservation Strategy Implemenmtation Project and presents 23 conservation strategies and plans to address the environmental degradation of Phewa lake and its immediate watershed area.
This volume presents 21 papers given at a workshop held to demonstrate future policy towards hunting by tourists in Tanzania. It brings together contributions from experts from eastern and southern African countries. Papers cover a range of topics from administration of hunting, setting quotas, safari volume and returns from hunting, the involvement of local communities, and the professional hunter.
