Value for money

The primary objective of this assessment is to determine the value for money (VfM) of IUCN's contribution to Guatemala’s forest landscape restoration (FLR) policy formulation processes during the period 2012-2016. The process and findings described in this VfM assessment are intended to stimulate discussion within IUCN and beyond on how to systematically reflect on experiences and capture lessons about what works in delivering value, and share that learning about value delivery to influence policy, investment, decisions and actions.

Status of tropical forest management 2011

This report, two years in the making, provides a comprehensive assessment of progress being made towards SFM in each ITTO producer member country and identifies the challenges remaining. Key findings include that the area deemed to be under sustainable management has grown by 50% over the past 5 years but that several countries continue to struggle to make the transition to sustainability in their tropical forests.

The Parks in Peril program begin in 1990 to secure the survival of some of the most endangered and biologically important areas in Latin America and the Caribbean. This publication documents progress of the Parks in Peril program and provides detailed information about this group of protected areas. But the purpose of this book goes beyond enumerating the program's achievements; it also details the extraordinary complexity of the social, economic, and political forces affecting these protected areas.

Blue solutions from Latin America and the wider Caribbean

This publication is a result of Blue Solutions’ second Regional Forum on Solutions for Oceans, Coasts and Human Well-being in Latin America and the Wider Caribbean Region. This four-day workshop was held in Cancún, Mexico in April 2015. During this event more than 40 participants presented their positive examples and engaged with the larger audience in discussions around how these examples can be adapted to address pressing challenges faced in other regions or sectors in Latin America and the Wider Caribbean.

PANORAMA is a partnership initiative to facilitate learning from success in conservation. It promotes examples of inspiring solutions that showcase how nature conservation can benefit society. PANORAMA enables the wider application of such solutions through cross-sectoral global learning and exchange. Through a modular case study format, solutions are dissected into their replicable “building blocks”. This booklet is the first in a series of compilations assembling PANORAMA solution case studies on a defined topic.
