This report aimed at understanding resource use and dependence, perception of marine conservation policies, and adaptive capacities of communities of North Ari atoll, Maldives. It provides information on the social resilience of 8 local community islands in North Ari atoll, and identifies differences in gender role, in resource use and perception of enironmental issues. This study is key in understanding the value of ecosystem services in one atoll in the Maldives.

The project "Facilitating REDD+ benefit sharing in Peru" (2013-2016) aimed to implement early REDD+ actions enabled by appropriate, efficient and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms that are sufficiently robust to be mainstreamed into long-term national and international REDD+ frameworks.

Reducing the environmental footprint of aquaculture has become a high priority as part of the drive for greater sustainability in modern society. To date, a major concern has been the challenge of feeding farmed fish with products that are nutritious but, at the same time, economically and environmentally sustainable. This guide sheds sheds light on the different sources of feed ingredients provided to fish during their life cycle.

Each year, approximately 300,000 reticulated pythons (Python reticulatus) are harvested from the wild in Indonesia and Malaysia to supply skins for the international trade in exotic leathers. Concerns have been raised about the sustainability of such a high level of off-take, along with issues related to illegal trade and humane treatment of snakes.

Singapore is known to play a major role in the global trade and consumption in shark and ray parts, though a country-specific analysis has not been conducted recently. Based on this, TRAFFIC and WWF undertook an exercise to understand the scale of this trade involving Singapore, and the role it plays. This assessment describes the characteristics of shark product trade through Singapore over a ten-year period, from 2005 to 2014 as well as the current regulatory systems in place.
