Practising and promoting sound environmental management in refugee/returnee operations

This volume is a consolidated collection of selected papers presented by participants in the thematic working groups of a four-day workshop in Geneva entitled "Practising and Promoting Sound Environmental Management in Refugee/Returnee Operations" organised by the Environment Unit in UNHCR's Engineering and Environmental Services Section (EESS). The objectives of this workshop were to share and collate experiences of environmental work in refugee situations; determine new lessons learned, both positive and negative; develop specific, achievable recommendations for future action; and provide guidance on where gaps exist in current tools and guidelines.
