The critically endangered Blue Iguana is globally unique to Grand Cayman. Urgent wide ranging conservation measures are vital if this Caymanian flagship animal is to be saved from extinction. This document is a detailed plan for such measures, developed by the IUCN Iguana Specialist Group in consultation with the Cayman Islands Government and the National Trust for the Cayman Islands.

Mangroves provide an array of benefits to coastal communities, but in spite of their many values, mangroves in Asia continue to be converted to other land uses and sustainable financing for their protection has not been forthcoming.

The manual provides guidance for States Parties and all those involved in the care of World Heritage cultural properties on how to comply with the requirements of the Convention. It also aims to help States Parties to ensure that heritage has a dynamic role in society and harnesses, but also delivers to others, the mutual benefits that such a role can create. This Manual deals only with the management of cultural heritage sites.

There are 357 species of birds breeding within the assessment region, which consists of the whole of the Arabian Peninsula, plus Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, including offshore islands and the Socotra archipelago.
