IUCN Sri Lanka is the National Secretariat of Mangroves for the Future (MFF) regional initiative that is being implemented in the country since 2008. MFF Sri Lanka implemented over 82 small grants to date and as an innovative step, decided to allocate resources to better understand the post-project sustainability of MFF projects. Fifty nine (59) projects have been implemented during 2009-2012 of which 54 were evaluated.

The Brahmaputra River is one of the largest river systems in the world, yet it is also one of the most under-investigated, underdeveloped basins. This study analyzes available climatic and hydrologic data to carry out a physicalassessment of the basin. The analysis also looked at possible climate change impacts on temperature, evapotranspiration, rainfall, and river flows in the basin.
This document summarizes TRAFFIC’s comprehensive overview of events and dynamics currently driving an escalating illicit trade in rhino horns from South Africa to Viet Nam. Whilst it is recognized that there are other dimensions to the rhino horn trade within Africa and in Asia, this examination of the two principal countries serves to bring into focus many prominent characteristics of a still unfolding wildlife trade crisis of global importance.
