This toolkit, prepared through the Ad-Hoc Working Group on the Development of European National Committees in collaboration with IUCN national committees in Europe, gives background on the purpose of national committees within IUCN and provides guidance on establishing a national committee, using national committees as a mechanism for implementing projects, working with IUCN Commissions and communication tools and strategies.

This book is a compilation of news reports and feature articles published in various dailies and weeklies between April 1995 and August 1996 on the present status of the country's endangered wildlife, rare wild species, their habitat destruction, human and ecological pressure on their food and habitat, their illegal trade and conservation efforts carried out by various international and national agencies.

Ce rapport présente les résultats de deux études thématiques: d’une part le potentiel écologique pour l'identification des corridors dans la zone APT (Aire Protégée Transfrontalière) du Mayombe et, d’autre part, le potentiel écologique pour la délimitation d’AP (Aires Protégées) au sein même de l’APT (Aire Protégée Transfrontalière) du Mayombe.

Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) are important instruments for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. CEPA provides the link from science and ecology to people’s social and economic reality. It supplies the oil for the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and deals with the processes that motivate and mobilize individual and collective action.
