This synopsis has been produced to highlight the core aspects of the first three volumes of Natural Capital of Mexico, which gives us an overview to identify priorities for future attention, new research areas and options for the conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity in Mexico.
This report considers the status and trends of pan-European biodiversity in a range of ecosystems, and the implications of these trends for biodiversity management policy and practice. It considers the key biodiversity policy instruments currently applied in Europe, the threats to biodiversity and the management implications of such threats across major habitat types.

Futurability is derived from the German zukunft (future) and fähigkeit (potential or ability). "Sustainability" and "sustainable development" are globally recognized modern terms. However, both of these include the meaning of "maintaining the current status quo". Yet, there can be no future for mankind if the aim is to prolong the current situation which our world is confronted by environmental problems.
This booklet is for biodiversity campaigners, policy makers and media who are open to radically changing our biodiversity message, in order to radically increase action.
The report gives an account of Ireland's natural heritage or biodiversity, starting with the legislative framework designed to protect it, and presents a brief portrait of some of the contry's more important habitats and elements of her flora and fauna. The main threats to biodiversity in Ireland are discussed and the report concludes by attempting to assess the state of the natural environment and how efforts to manage and safeguard our natural heritage are progressing.
