This book is intended as a simple guide to the identification of about 100 common and rare wild plant species in the UAE. These plants are illustrated in color and described in detail in order to help the naturalist or expert make positive identifications in the field.
Freshwater habitats and biodiversity in the Arabian Peninsula are unique and highly valued for the essential role they play in people's survival, as well as that of its native flora and fauna. This project aims to provide an accurate picture of the present conservation status and distribution of Arabian freshwater species, as well as to identify the main threats that affect them and action requirements for their successful long term conservation.
This publication provides for the first time factual information on the status of medicinal plants in Europe. This assessment includes 400 vascular plants from ninety families, and the good news is it shows that only 2.4% of medicinal plants are threatened. The collection of plants from the wild was identified as the prime threat, and impacts from agriculture were identified as another important threat.
A brioflora de Portugal Continental integra um total de 704 taxa (incluindo espécies, subespécies e algumas variedades consideradas taxonomicamente importantes). Compreende cerca de 40% das espécies europeias e quase 65% de todos os briófitos ibéricos sendo estes organismos indicados como um dos grupos de plantas mais antigo, com grande importância ecológica, fundamentais para a manutenção da biodiversidade dos ecossistemas.
O CNCFlora lançou o primeiro "Livro Vermelho da Flora do Brasil". A publicação científica reúne avaliações sobre o risco de extinção de espécies de plantas no país e representa uma contribuição da comunidade científica para a atualização da “Lista Oficial de Espécies da Flora Brasileira Ameaçadas de Extinção”, que está a cargo do Ministério do Meio Ambiente.
