Protected areas

These Guidelines are intended to help improve the conservation and management of geoheritage and geodiversity in protected and conserved areas and recognition of the interrelationships and interactions with biological features and processes.

La Malette pédagogique est le manuel de la version 2 de l’outil intégré sur l’efficacité de gestion (IMET, en anglais) et de coaching ou action d’accompagnement professionnel des équipes de gestion des aires protégées. IMET est un outil d’aide à la décision destiné à faire avancer le processus de planification-suivi-évaluation pour améliorer l’efficacité de la gestion des aires protégées.

Essas diretrizes abordam o planejamento e a gestão de áreas sob proteção privada (ou PPAs) e as diretrizes são direcionadas principalmente aos profissionais e formuladores de políticas, que estão ou podem estar envolvidos com PPAs. Orientação é dada em todos os aspectos do estabelecimento, gestão e comnunicação da PPA, e são fornecidas informações sobre princípios e melhores práticas, com exemplos retirados de muitas partes diferentes do mundo.

These guidelines address planning and management of privately protected areas (PPAs) and the guidance is aimed principally at practitioners and policy makers, who are or may be involved with PPAs. Guidance is given on all aspects of PPA establishment, management and reporting, and information is provided on principles and best practices, with examples drawn from many different parts of the world.

These guidelines provide an update and expansion of the original Guidelines for Cave and Karst Protection, published in 1997. The original guidelines were primarily concerned with geoheritage, and while this remains an important consideration in this second edition, it also covers the biological issues involved in cave and karst conservation.

Dieser Richtlinie soll dazu beitragen, die Erhaltung und das Management des Geo-Naturerbes und der Geodiversität in Schutz- und Erhaltungsgebieten zu verbessern und die Zusammenhänge und Wechselwirkungen mit biologischen Merkmalen und Prozessen zu erkennen. Sie sind kein Lehrbuch für das Management des Schutzes des Geo-Naturerbes, sondern stellen vielmehr den wesentlichen Hintergrund, den Kontext und die Prinzipien dar.

Não se trata de um livro sobre práticas de gestão de geoconservação, mas antes uma apresentação dos antecedentes, contexto e princípios essenciais.

Increasing interest in measuring, modelling and valuing ecosystem services (ES), the benefits that ecosystems provide to people, has resulted in the development of an array of ES assessment tools in recent years. Selecting an appropriate tool for measuring and modelling ES can be challenging.

The World Heritage thematic study for Central Asia has been produced as a contribution to supporting the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in Central Asia. It provides a response to a Decision of the World Heritage Committee in order to identify outstanding areas with potential for future nomination to the World Heritage List with primary focus on criteria (ix) and (x) at the regional scale.

Ces Lignes directrices sont destinées à améliorer la conservation et la gestion du géopatrimoine et de la géodiversité dans les aires protégées et conservées, et à reconnaître les interrelations et interactions avec les caractéristiques et processus biologiques. Elles n’ont pas vocation à être un manuel sur les pratiques de gestion de la géoconservation, mais plutôt à présenter le contexte et les principes de base.
