State of the Wild is a biennial series that brings together international conservation experts and writers to discuss emerging issues in the conservation of wildlife and wild places. Each volume in the series combines evocative writings with a fascinating tour of conservation news highlights and vital statistics from around the world. One-third of each volume focuses on a topic of particular concern to conservationists.

Seit 1987 gelten die Hoch- und Flachmoore in der Schweiz als geschützt, dank der Rothenthurm-Initiative. Die Moorlandschaft Nummer 1 Rothenthurm–Altmatt liegt im Kanton Schwyz und es ist mehr als verständlich, dass daraus eine besondere Verantwortung erwächst. Le Niger compte aujourd’hui 85 aménagements hydro-agricoles (AHA). Avec la pression démographique et la raréfaction des ressources naturelles disponibles pour l’activité agricole, l’informalité de la gestion du foncier des AHA et du statut des personnes qui les exploitent est devenue problématique.

Il Monitoring Institute for Rare Breeds and Seeds in Europe ha pubblicato lo studio "Risorse genetiche agrarie in Italia". In oltre 200 pagine la ricerca illustra la situazione delle risorse genetiche di animali da allevamento e piante coltivate in Italia. Partendo dal rispettivo grado di minaccia, vengono quindi presentate le iniziative di conservazione statali, universitarie e private, per procedere poi ad una stima della necessità di intervento.

This report explores the economic impact of climate change in Zambia through the assessment of six sectors, agriculture & food security, natural resources, water, energy, health, and infrastructure. The analysis is conducted via scenario planning. 

Interim results are presented from five exploratory sector studies (on livestock, rice, agroforestry, inland fisheries and palm oil), while the development of a ‘valuation framework’ provides a common lens for ensuring that the full range of impacts and dependencies can be examined under different applications (i.e. by sector, system or practice).
