This report presents the main findings and recommendations of the IUCN-Niger Delta Panel, regarding the sustainable remediation and rehabilitation of oil spill impacted sites in the Niger Delta. It has been prepared for the Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd of Nigeria (SPDC) and represents the Panel’s first year of work.

Of the 8,300 million tonnes of plastic produced from 1950 to 2015, only 7% has been recycled while more than half has been discarded in landfill or leaked into the environment. Companies, organisations, and governments are taking measures to tackle plastic pollution. However, there is currently no standard methodology to measure the extent of the plastic problem.

In 2011, the government of Germany and IUCN together launched the Bonn Challenge as a global commitment to bring under restoration 150 million hectares (Mha) of land by 2020.  IUCN has developed the Bonn Challenge Barometer: a progress-tracking framework and tool to support pledgers in meeting the critical need to assess and report on the implementation of national and subnational forest landscape restoration (FLR) pledges made under the Bonn Challenge.

In this impassioned work, E.O. Wilson proposes an historic partnership between scientists and religious leaders to preserve Earth's rapidly vanishing biodiversity. Our Earth, Creation itself, is in desperate need, Wilson writes. And it is only by working together that we can hope to salvage and protect the vast multitude of life forms that continue to flourish on our planet despite the wanton destruction wrought by human hands.

This book presents 127 species of Korean mammals describing their taxonomy, natural history, distribution, conservation, and management. Also, the book introduces hotspots for mammal watching, history of Korean mammalogy, and mammalian zoogeography of Korea.
