The report focuses on timber trade from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru and contributes to monitoring the impact and effectiveness of European Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT)-related policy measures in South America through provision of preliminary baseline data on changes in timber trade between the region and Europe and other world export markets.

This desk-based study assesses the feasibility of attracting private investments to finance Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) in Rwanda. It provides a detailed review of the main factors that will determine if and how Rwanda can attract private (return-motivated) investors. The study also provides recommendations on how Rwanda can move forward and mobilize the resources and technical assistance needed to secure private investment in FLR.

Amidst the pressing challenges of global climate change, the last decade has seen a wave of forest carbon projects across the world, designed to conserve and enhance forest carbon stocks in order to reduce carbon emissions from deforestation and offset emissions elsewhere. Exploring a set of new empirical case studies, Carbon Conflicts and Forest Landscapes in Africa examines how these projects are unfolding, their effects, and who is gaining and losing.

Silva Gabreta is an international journal, which publishes peer-reviewed research papers, reviews, and short communications dealing with different aspects of natural history and nature protection especially within the territory of the Bohemian Forest. English is the major publication language; however, some contributions are published in German or Czech with an English abstract.
