The Community Conservation Support Fund (CCSF) in Sri Lanka supports innovative, community-based and natural resources management initiatives with the help of small grants. El libro de Gobernanza del Agua en Mesoamérica pretende realizar un análisis comparativo del estado de la incorporación de la variable ambiental en la legislación sobre recursos hídricos de los países de Mesoamérica. Varios autores mesoamericanos presentaron la situación nacional propia, describiendo el régimen jurídico del agua, el marco institucional, usos del agua, incentivos para la conservación de los recursos hídricos, entre otros.

This publication examines the characteristics of successful transboundary resource management. Various cases of different shared resources, from water to fish to air, are described and their strengths and weaknesses analysed.Successful management of transboundary resources is growing in relevance as resources become sparse and conflicts over them increase. However, many of its elements have not yet been sufficiently defined and applied.

This toolkit will introduce readers to the central role played by policy, law and institutions in designing and implementing good governance for water resources. It will guide users through approaches to reforming water governance, including useful mechanisms for incorporating environmental considerations into water laws and policies. It is intended for use by water professionals, working in water management, who do not have a law background.
